Canadian Union of Public Employees is now the target of a boycott. Individuals across Canada are being asked
to cross CUPE picket lines to protest their unresolved history of unfair labour practices and human rights abuses.
Some complaints of unfair labour practices and human rights abuses against CUPE have been outstanding
for over a decade. Others are more recent.
Complaints against CUPE pertain to the following:
- an 'apartheid' labour system inside CUPE in which Local Presidents employed non-union secretaries who were often
expected to absorb abuse and work without benefits.
- political psychiatry employed by CUPE to silence freedom of expression by a male member -- political psychiatry virtually
identical to that used by Chinese communist leaders
- police intimidation orchestrated by CUPE leaders to silence freedom of expression by staff and members.
